Evanston has a new mayor and city council! A few months in, Mayor Hagerty & Alderman Wilson will join us for a lively discussion of current Evanston topics and questions, including yours!
Please submit your questions in the comments section below, and we will choose a few to read aloud.
Back in the 19th century, "more than the beer, saloons provided a gathering place in a nation with little public space for working-class men to argue the issues or meet the candidates."*
"What we need, more than tweets or memes, is the kind of civic life that transpires when men and women gather face to face and, as a fan of old saloons put it, 'political matters ebb and flow free as froth on the beer.'"*

Our series, “Temperance Trikonasana” pairs beer with yoga and a cause. Jenny Arrington brings her Yoga Blend class to the brewery once a month. This month we're celebrating on the evening of Earth Day! Accompanying us with acoustic guitar will be Jonah Brooks from the School of Rock Evanston.
Yoga Blend brings together Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Yin Yoga to create a unique, total-body experience. Breath and chanting begin and end each class, and we experience a gong bath during savasana to ensure you leave class feeling revitalized and seeing your infinite potential. Once our bodies and minds are opened, we have a beer together and learn about the local charity we are supporting this month.
The cost is $15, which includes a post-savasana beer. 21+ only, first-come, first-served. All levels welcome. Please bring your own mat.
Temperance Trikonasana is a regular event on the third Saturday of each month, with proceeds going to a different charity each class. This month's proceeds go to Evanston Public Library.
